Meet John Hannon
John Hannon is an in-demand keynote speaker and management and leadership thought leader. He works with television and radio companies to develop profitable strategies for both media outlets and client advertisers. His extensive knowledge of television and radio management, media news, marketing, digital convergence and sales enables him to help industry leaders create powerful cultures to dramatically grow their businesses.
His broadcasting career began at the age of fifteen as a radio station disc jockey. By the age of eighteen, John answered the call of customer service as an account executive.
Under John’s leadership, television stations have won several national awards, including: the network Model for Success, the Better Business Bureau Integrity Award, and multiple National Association of Broadcasting Sales Promotion Awards.
In October 2019, John was named President & General Manager of Univision Houston, overseeing all aspects of station operations for television, radio, digital and social media properties, including advertising sales, marketing, news and production. Univision Houston comprises KXLN (Univision) and KFTH (UniMas), KLAT-AM, KLTN-FM, KOVE-FM, KAMA-FM and KQBU-FM.
John is an Amazon best-selling author in the category of Management & Leadership: Training, as well as a #1 new release ranking. His Engagement Management book series consists of 3 volumes that were listed by Book Authority as the best Sales Management and Customer Service books you must read in 2019 and 2020.
Originally from Ironton Ohio, John holds degrees from Central Texas College and Ohio University. He completed his Masters degree in Journalism and Broadcast Station Management at Marshall University. He is a member of the National Speakers Association and has achieved the Certified Speaking Professional (CSP) designation. Only 1.4%, (761) of the over 53,000 speakers worldwide hold the CSP credential.
John is a nearly twelve-year veteran of the Air Force, Air Force Reserve and Army National Guard. He is a retired rugby player married to his high school sweetheart, Bridget. They split time between Siesta Key, Florida, and Houston, Texas, with their two college student daughters, a college student son and two dogs.
